Description Description:
A native of Korean, Japan, and the Russian far east. Columnar growth habit when young, pyramidal when older. Generally older plants have a dense habit with branches that extend nearly to the ground.

  Morphology:
Needles are blue green with a distinct curve. They are arranged in bundles of 5. Needles have a soft texture.

  Adaptation:
Prefers well drained sites, acidic soils, and even soil moisture during the summer months.

  Pests:
Pest free on the west coast.
