Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gracilis' is a compact, upright, tree form of Hinoki cypress with much denser branching than the typical species. Foliage is dark green in color. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 6 feet (1.8 m) tall and 2 feet (60 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 6 to 8 inches (15 - 20 cm).
