Lagerstroemia faurerii – probably a seedling of ‘Townhouse’, which is known for its dark, rusty brown bark. Planted 1990.
Pinus taeda NCSU Dwarf Group – rare dwarf of our native loblolly pine, with beautiful dense rounded crown. Grafted. Planted ~1988. Moved 2002.
Ulmus alata 'Lace Parasol' – unusual, locally discovered, weeping variety of our native winged elm. Planted 2004.
Betula nigra 'Little King' (Fox Valley) – an unusual dwarf variety of our native river birch with beautiful bark. Planted 2004?
Thujopsis dolabrata - 4 plantings have been completely deer proof once established. One of variety Hondai, and 3 others of the same species. Planted 1998-2002.
Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Sheridan Spire' – a narrow variety of “dawn redwood”, a deciduous conifer. Planted 1993.
Sequoia sempervirens – Coastal redwood has blue/green foliage and reddish bark Planted 2000.
Cercidiphyllum japonicum – Large handsome tree with fall foliage smelling of cotton candy. Planted 1999.
Acer palmatum 'Ōsakasuki' – a Japanese maple with intense fall color which is well displayed by large leaves. Planted 2011.
Pinus densiflora 'Umbraculifera' – often pruned in the NW into "tabletop pines", but this one gets to assume a more natural form. Grafted. Planted ~1988. Moved 2002.
