The centerpiece of the Arboretum’s gardens, the eye-catching Mary L. Griggs Annual Garden draws visitors in the spring when 20,000 tulips in pastel hues burst into bloom. In the summer, the garden delights passers-by with a tapestry of colorful and unique annuals.
Moved to its current location in 2005, the Annual Garden design incorporates circles and semicircles around a small pool and Victorian-style “Merboy Fountain.” Sited on a gentle slope, the tiered garden is reminiscent of formal European gardens, its beds edged in granite and enclosed with circular stone walls.
