Overview: The Vanderwolf Pine (Pinus flexilis) also known as the limber pine, is a species of pine tree that usually grows in the mountains of the Western United States. It offers silver/blue colored needles and does well in rocky soil.  It’s shape and color is what makes it so beautiful, creating a full pyramid perfect for landscaping.

The Vanderwolf is a soft blue evergreen that requires full sunlight to reach a typical growth of 20 to 30 feet with a spread of 10 to 15 feet with a dense pyramidal shape. These trees are non-flowering pines with little maintenance needed.

Vanderwolfs grow best in medium moisture, well-drained soil with full sunlight. These trees are adaptable and once established, they are known to be drought tolerant. This limber pine species forms a large taproot which makes them difficult to transplant once established in a landscape.
