The first piece of furniture I ever bought for Bodywork Professionals was this clock body at an antique store on River Street in Troy. It was $40 and I thought it would be a good place to store my linens and pillowcases. I painted a design on it that looked like stained glass, and for the last 20 years I wished it was real Stained Glass.

Recently my dreams come true, thanks to the artistic talents of Valerie Collins a local stained glass artisan. This design is a representation of the cranialsacral system in the spinal column, and she brought it to life. Each of the segments correlate to the spinal segments, with the sacrum being imaged as a triangle. The cranium is upward receptive cup and has the same glass as the clock face representing the ether or akasha (time mechanism coming soon!). My teacher Emmett used to talk about the Earth chakra and suggested that we shared an energetic connection with the Earth. I’ve included that detail in this piece represented by the brown glass at the bottom.

A different layer is the three circles represent each of Bodywork Professionals and their continual through line. The middle one being the first and outgrew his boundary and gave way to the other two. The triangle at the bottom represents the Bodywork Guild. The open circles on top and bottom represents growing roots and into the future.

Finally, I thought of my children and family. The three circles represent each of my daughters, my son the triangle, step son the circle on the bottom half circle and my wife and I the unifying circle on top and the container for out little outfit.

Many of the relationships in size and shape are based around the golden ratio for a touch of whimsy.

Valerie does not have a website, nor does not have a Facobook page. She said you could call her studio at 518-695-4062 or email her vcgrafx@gmail.com if you wish to discuss a commission. She is such a love and a pleasure to work with.
