This 1989 Dodge Caravan SE Turbo is finished in burgundy over red cloth upholstery and is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four paired with a three-speed automatic transaxle. Equipment includes the Seven Passenger Seating package as well as a roof rack, a rear window wiper, a sliding right-rear door, front disc brakes, 14″ wheels, and interior woodgrain trim. The car remained registered in Washington State from new through the seller’s acquisition in January 2016. Subsequent work included replacing two lug studs and the tires as well as installing a replacement instrument cluster, a manual boost controller, aftermarket gauges and exhaust components, a replacement cassette stereo with an auxiliary input, and Pioneer speakers. This Caravan is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, service and parts invoices, spare and removed parts, an accident-free Carfax report, and a Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The van left the factory finished in Black Cherry Pearl Coat. Features include a roof rack, a rear window wiper, a sliding right-rear door, Caravan-branded mud flaps, front-fender “turbo” decals, and red pinstripes. Photos show chips on the trailing edge of the sliding door as well as blemishes on the lower bodywork.
Silver-finished 14″ wheels wear bright trim rings and were reportedly mounted with 205/70 Toyo Eclipse tires in June 2022. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The seller states that the right-front and left-rear wheel hubs were each fitted with a replacement lug stud in June 2022.
The seven-passenger cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in red cloth, while woodgrain trim accents the color-coordinated dashboard. Appointments include cruise control, storage consoles, and power-operated rear quarter vent windows as well as aftermarket gauges for air-fuel ratio and boost pressure. The seller states that a replacement AM/FM/cassette stereo with an auxiliary input was installed along with Pioneer speakers under current ownership. The air-conditioning system was reportedly fitted with a replacement compressor under current ownership, though the system is currently inoperative.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a replacement instrument cluster, which contains a 125-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 108k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership. A mileage inconsistency is listed in a September 2017 entry on the Carfax report. Total mileage is unknown.
The turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder features multi-port fuel injection. An oil change was reportedly performed in January 2021. Per the seller, the van has been fitted with a Gillis manual boost controller as well as an aftermarket muffler. A section of replacement exhaust pipe has been installed in place of the catalytic converter.
Power is transferred to the front wheels through a three-speed automatic transaxle. The seller notes corrosion on exhaust components, and additional underbody photographs are provided in the gallery below.
Various spare and removed parts will accompany the van along with manufacturer’s literature, service and parts invoices, time slips from Keystone Raceway Park, and photos of car show materials and awards.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage, displays the aforementioned September 2017 mileage inconsistency, and lists history in Washington State and Pennsylvania.
