Introduction

Jiulong Lake Scenic Area, located in Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is National AA Level tourist area and part of Wuxi River National Wetland Park as well as Lanke Mountain-Wuxi River Provincial Scenic Area. There are rich cultural and natural landscapes, and hydroelectric resources including factories, showrooms, old control rooms, modern control rooms, dispatch center, new turbine floor, Huangtankou Dam, Jiulong Mountain, Niutou Gulf, Xifeng Pond and Xiangsi Island Resort.

The weather here is pleasant and suitable for the growth of vegetations including some endangered national second-class protective plants and some rare species such as manglietia, pseudotsuga gaussenii, taxus chinensis and so on. The most peculiar thing in the scenic area is azaleas which change their color over time. Sometimes they are white, and then they may turn yellow or purple or red, showing a splendid and gorgeous landscape to tourists. In the scenic area, various kinds of birds and animals leisurely live in harmony with lush forests. There are dozens of special local fruits such as chestnut, persimmon, torreya grandis, kiwi fruit and so on, and many local products here such as tea, tea oil, mushroom, black fungus, tung-oil and so on.

The landscapes of Jiulong Lake are on the basis of nature, combining with the cultural landscapes. The water in the Jiulong Lake is distinctive. It slowly flows down from the Lengwuan Village, but it is dyed by the green hills in the scenic area with the retention of its limpidity.
