Pulitzer Prize-winning author Herman Wouk will release his first memoir, Simon & Schuster announced Friday. Wouk, who turns 100 on May 27, will discuss his spirituality and his time serving in the Navy during World War II in Sailor and Fiddler: Reflections of a 100-Year-Old Author.

“I’ve lived to a great age, and for that I thank Providence,” Wouk said in a statement. “To the readers who’ve stayed with me for the long pull, my warm affection, and I hope you’ll enjoy the light-hearted memoir about my writings, Sailor and Fiddler.”

Wouk has penned over two dozen works, including The Caine Mutiny (1951), Don’t Stop the Carnival (1965), The Winds of War (1971), War and Remembrance (1978), and most recently, The Lawgiver (2012). He won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for The Caine Mutiny the year after its release.

Sailor and Fiddler will hit shelves in December.
