This cultivar began as a witch's broom growth on a Serbian Spruce tree discovered by Goudkade Brothers Nursery in the Netherlands about 1930. It begins as a dense somewhat globose form and then becomes a dense pyramidal dwarf tree in time. It is slow growing of about 3 to 6 inches a year. My biggest customer in her back yard in West Chester, PA, has one and I finally took a photo of it. It has not changed much in the approximately 10 years that I have worked there. Otherwise, I have never seen it elsewhere.
