Round single cones that are smooth and never warty.
Biology

Perennial. Principally of drier inland regions, where occasionally abundant on sandy soils, loamy plains, and granite and sedimentary rocky country. Frost and drought-tolerant. Fire-sensitive. Valuable commercial forestry species in NSW & Qld, used as fencing, flooring, panelling and furniture.

The wood of some Callitris species was used by Aboriginal people for making canoe poles, womeras and for fire-making, and the resin was used as adhesive for cementing axe-heads and kangaroo sinew onto spearheads.
