Tsuga mertensiana commonly known as Mountain Hemlock. A Slow growing conifer with an aged alpine look. Great tree for the larger rock garden. Plant in groups of 3 or 5 for a nice alpine forest feel.

In addition to nutrients & additives and our custom blended growing mixes we also recommend a thick layer of wood chips. Sourced locally and spread 6-8″ deep, specimen plantings up to 1′ deep. Keep the chips 4-6″ away from the trunk.
