Here is a fast-growing, upright evergreen that deer won't bother with. 'Hetzi Cloumnaris' is a tried and true selection that stays well shaped without need of pruning. It often produces bountiful crops of blue berry-like cones that are highly ornamental and relished by many birds. Very adaptable to dry, sandy, rocky soils but do avoid saturated soils with poor drainage.
