- Conifer, evergreen tree, dwarf, tight, columnar juvenile form, estimated height in 10 year about 6 ft tall and 1-2 ft wide (1.8 × 0.3-0.6 m). Foliage bright yellow with a green tint (i.e., chartreuse).
- Sun. Considered a good container plant.
- Hardy to USDA Zone 7 Found as a mutation from `Goldcrest' in 1987. Originated in Holland by P. Overkleeft. Sometimes offered as 'Goldcrest Wilma'.
- Taxonomy: Monterey Cypress has been classified as Cupressus macrocarpa, Callitropsis macrocarpa, and more recently as Hesperocyparis macrocarpa. As of 2024 Hesperocyparis (western cypress), (hesperus, -a, -um; Latin, of the west, western) is listed as the correct classification by Plants of the World Online, World Flora Online, and the Gymnosperm Database. There is disagreement about this classification, with some scientists continuing to use Cupressus in preference to Hesperocyparis.
