  • Conifer, evergreen tree, 40 ft (12 m) tall in its habitat, but only 25 ft (7.6 m) in cultivation.  Needles blue or blue-green, becoming dark green, stiff, 1-2 cm long and 1-2 mm wide, directed forward or ascending on upper side of branchlets, parted and spreading laterally on lower side.,  Cones 5-16 cm long, cylindrical, brown.
  • Sun or light shade.
  • Hardy to USDA Zone 6     Native to China, especially Sichuan.
