BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): Burnett's is a great place to find a huge variety of plants, flowers, and supplies year round.
Entering through the main entrance you are greeted by a greenhouse filled wall to wall with tropical and indoor plants depending on what season it is you may also see exotic perennials, pumpkins, or poinsettias. They offer a huge selection of bulbs, vegetables, flats of seasonal flowers but my favorite is walking around out back and looking at the huge variety of trees and scrubs.
I have experienced very knowledgeable staff during my visits. They helped me choose healthy and hardy bushes for my yard that really stand out throughout the seasons.
It is located on Rt 85 between the Dinosaur mini golf and Salem "four-corners" rotary which isn't far from the end of Rt 11 if your heading south on Rt 2 from Hartford. My mother traveled from Western Massachusetts to stop in and look at the beautiful selection of Holly bushes for her yard.
It can be pricey but you'd be hard pressed to find a better variety and quality to compare to big box stores. They offer a guarantee for trees and scrubs for one year or two years with the success kit which contains a bag of organic "bio-tone" starter fertilizer and organic "Coast of Maine" compost. I read a review about Paul Z's experience in April and I must admit I thought I would need to take advantage of the policy but my "Beauty-Berry" bush must be a late one to get started and just sprouted some new shoots last weekend. My mother's three Holly bushes are still to be determined.
I would recommend Burnett's Country Gardens to the moderate to experienced level gardener. I'm sure beginners can receive an great deal of knowledge from the staff for success but like I said before the prices are a bit higher than the big box stores. I like shopping in the fall and snagging some real discounts before they close up the outdoor portion for the season.
(I apologize in advance. I didn't take photos for a Yelp post, I was trying to collect some pictures to show my wife all the amazing things I found for the yard to go back and shop later)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Raquel C.Lincoln, NH042Jun 27, 2022
WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!
EVERY SINGLE staff member we encountered were so helpful, pleasant and willing to assist no matter what theyre doing at the time! My fiancée and I needed some additional help to setup our backyard and was referred to Ingrid. .... GAME CHANGER! She provided TOP NOTCH customer service from the beginning! She was so honest, genuine, thoughtful, and considerate with everything! ... Most of all, SO PERSONABLE!! I grid was so patient with us and took the time to go around and picked every plant with us. If our choices werent the best, she would politely educate us on the pros / cons on our decision. We truly appreciated everything she did for us! Our yard thanks her! Burnette's is TRULY lucky to have the team we encountered!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 2, 2020
Always a pleasure to come here and shop for various plants and flowers. With this Covid-19 crisis going on they have a hand wash station at the entrance and they ask everyone to wash their hands before entering. Very large assortment of hanging basket flowers. Staff are all around to help take down the plants you want.

Disappointed, purchase 3 expensive bushes last year, and 2 didn't survive. Burnetts promised refund but now getting runaround. No refund as of this review. Don't purchase "Success Kit" which offers 2 yrs guarantee, as I can't get credit on regular purchase - it's a scam!! Really disappointing.... UPDATE - received refund after posting 1 star review, updated to 3 star.

Love my violas and pansies I just got at Burnett's. I can't wait for some warmer weather to get my herb garden going. they have a great selection. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I will be back this week as the 70s and maybe 80s will make me want to garden.

We stopped by for the Vintage Market over the weekend. The Vintage Market was small so we didn't browse long or find anything but I'm surprised at what Burnett has for plants. Lots of exotic plants like the carnivorous pitcher plant and Persian lime trees. There was plenty of mini plants for terrariums along with miniatures you can buy to spruce up your terrariums. Their prices are comparable to the Home Depot but with much better selections. We got a indoor Persian lime tree along with a large ceramic planter. They'll re-pot plants as long you purchase a container with the plant. It definitely saves us the trouble of having to re-pot it later.

I visited Burnett's CG yesterday and was so impressed with the selection, quality, organization and staff! Plenty of plants, pottery and garden tools to choose from! So happy to have such a great garden center in the Mystic area. Thank you- especially for western plants for our Koi pond which are hard to come by. MW

Love this place. The associate Tammy was a joy to work with!! She helped me figure out what I wanted so that our walkway would look clean and put together. She gave me a tip "you want a thriller, a filler, and a spiller." Our little gardens look great and she managed to even stay under budget!! So pleased we will be back soon!!

Really wonderful staff. Very friendly and outgoing. Very willing to help you and educate you. I actually had some plant types they're weren't that familiar with and they were willing to order the products for me. An Akebia vine and a couple of domestic Kiwi plants Michelle, Missy, and Heather just to name a few. They are all very nice and helpful, and a great place to invest in your yard.

Great staff and selection of plants. A lot better with the new owners. Great job turning that place around. I actually enjoy going there to see all of the new things they are bringing in daily
