Pinus strobiformis, also known as Border Pine or Chihuahua White Pine, is a medium-sized white pine tree native to the high-elevation mountains of southwestern United States and Mexico. It has a straight, slender trunk and dark green to blue-green needles that grow in bundles of five. While not suitable for lumber, it can be used ornamentally and its seeds were historically used as a food source by Native Americans.


Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours


Stratification: cold stratify for 120 days|none required
