Statement of Significance

These three stands of 30, 50 and 1 trees are significant for their rarity at a State level as the most southerly remnant population of White Cypress-pine in Victoria, a species previously thought to be extinct from the You Yangs area.

The trees are also significant at a Regional level as remnant native vegetation, and for their location near the Wooloomanata historic homestead, built by the Armytage family of Como.

Location

One tree is located near the Lascelles Dam, on the northern floodplain
30 trees are located in the copse of exotic conifers and planted eucalypts immediately west of the Wooloomanata homestead facade.
50 trees are located 300 metres away west of this group, in the copse of exotic conifers at the bottom of the paddock.
