Maruyama
This was found at the base of a small group of cryptomeria japonica trees (Japanese sugi) in the Hokuriku region of Japan. Can anyone help me with identifying? I am an absolute beginner but I have to start somewhere, any information would be appreciated. Jeff Falcone
Cortinarius sp. if you were in NA I would think C. iodes/ideodes, but I’m not sure if that’s valid in Japan
Dave W
If the cap is sticky/tacky then some species close to C. iodes. If the cap is dry/silky, then possibly a species of Cortinarius subgenus Sericeocybe.
