Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Filifera Nana’ grows best in average, fertile, slightly acidic, medium moisture, well-drained soils. It hates wet, poorly drained soil because it can cause a root rot. It thrives in partial shade, but can adapt to full sun. It is resistant to frost, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winter winds. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Sawara cypress 'Filifera Nana', with its long, pendulous branches, is an attractive, decorative shrub that adds delicate texture to the landscape.
