Juniperus chinensis 'Stricta' can adapt to a wide range of soils, including clay and poor ones, but is best grown in average, loose, medium moisture, well-drained soils. It prefers sunny positions, but can adapt to some shade. It thrives in cool weather and can tolerate heat. Once established, tolerant of drought. Very resistant to frost, low temperatures, and exposed positions. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning.
