The April 2-8 edition of the Charlotte Business Journal lists the area’s largest residential real estate firms, ranked three ways. These installments of The List are ranked by number of full-time licensed agents, plus closed sales volume and number of transactions by local offices in 2020. Allen Tate Realtors tops all three lists with 738 area agents, local sales of $3.3 billion in 2020 and 9,945 transactions last year by its 22 Charlotte-area offices.
Re/Max Executive is No. 2 on the lists ranked by sales and transactions. The firm had local sales of $2 billion and 5,647 transactions last year. At No. 2 on the list ranked by agents is Coldwell Banker Realty, with 590 full-time licensed agents at its six area offices.
Keller Williams Realty-Ballantyne Area Market Center is the largest single residential real estate office in the region, with 544 agents. The office had $1.2 billion in sales and 3,875 transactions in 2020.

The Myers Park neighborhood was home to the majority of Mecklenburg County's 10 most expensive home sales that month. But an estate on the shores of Lake Norman carried the highest overall price tag in February. Those 10 priciest home sales ranged from $1.8 million to $3.3 million. Housing data was provided by American City Business Leads, a division of American City Business Journals, which is the parent company of CBJ.
