Chamaecyparis thyoides is a large conifer with a conical tree-like habit and red brown bark.
This magnificent tree prefers the cooler moist area of America's Eastern States.
The foliage is a silvery blue and scale-like giving a feathery effect, it ages to a rich purple in winter (colder climates).
The growth rate of these plants does depend on the quality of the soil. The deeper and richer soil the faster they will grow.
