Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been dating on and off since 2016, got engaged in 2019, and announced in March 2020 that they are expecting their first child together—a baby girl. Over the course of four years, it's only natural for a relationship to change as it hits new milestones. Perry even said recently that “there’s a lot of friction between" between her and Bloom.

“It’s just one of those relationships,” she elaborated back in March to Ryan Seacrest. “I don’t know about anyone else that’s listening, whatever kind of relationship they’ve had—and I’ve had many—but it’s like we basically…we get down to the mat and come back up every time.”

On April 23, a source told Us Weekly that the couple is currently facing the (extremely normal) stress that comes with preparing to welcome a child. “Orlando and her are having some ups and downs right now,” the source claims. “Katy is dealing with the nerves of being a first-time parent, and Orlando is stressing about having a baby in their lives at this time.” The Pirates of the Caribbean actor shares a nine-year-old son with his ex Miranda Kerr.

“[Perry and Bloom's relationship] has changed since she got pregnant,” the source who spoke to Us Weekly also said.

But that doesn't mean they're in a bad place. Perry is reportedly “overjoyed and elated that she is pregnant,” according to the source. “She’s always wanted to be a mom.”

And the pop star already knows she's going to be a great one. During the April 5 episode of American Idol, Perry (a judge) explained that she's a “tough bitch” after giving a young contestant a real talk. “I’m the toughest bitch,” she told cojudges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. “I’m gonna be a good mom. My kids are always gonna get it straight.”

Meanwhile, Bloom is definitely going to be one of those dads. Just check out his dad jokes on Instagram:

Perry and Bloom have been forced to postpone their wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic, but no matter what happens, their baby girl will clearly have two doting parents.
