This false cypress is belongs to the Filifera group, which means it has thread-like branches. In fact, some call these branches leaves. Practically the leaves are scales that cover the whip-like branches. Filifera Aurea is probably the most sought-after variety with golden yellow branches. It grows slowly but it is not dwarf. Its usual size is about 1-2m but in full maturity its size can double this figure. No pruning required. It prefers moist, slightly acidic soil but is adaptable to almost all types of soil. Fully hardy to approx. -31°C (USDA zone 4b).
