Pine trees are superb trees which grow in a wide climate scale - from cold northern countries to hot coastal sites. They are probably most beautiful in their natural environment.

Schoon’s Bonsai is a beautiful variety of Japanese white pine of slow growth. It has whorls of five needles that are silvery green, slightly curled and soft when touched. It forms an irregular shrub which looks like a bonsai.

Ultimate height is not known yet but is expected about 2m. You can combine it in a mixed border with other compact, Japanese-style plants or make it a small specimen in a small garden. As every pine, it needs full sun and well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Do not over-water pines but make sure it does not dry out when re-planted. Absolutely hardy to approx. -34°C (USDA zone 4).
