    Dax,
you can plant all "fruits of the Rockies", double irrigation from above, they will all have a happy life at you. Just give them an umbrella in greater rains...

Dax and I better get our buts in gear. What an impressive list/finds Jerry has. I got maybe 15 finds. Dax has sum as well. Jerry seems to have 100's. Great thread. Wondering if we could do, like a conifer person of the month. This month was Jerry Morris. Maybe next month Eddie Rezek or Chub or Stupka. Again great thread. Also lets not forget our foreign counter parts.

    Dear Kmanzfive,
thanks, give the photos what You have of Jerry Morris, please.
I agree, we need more american breeders to this threads. Possibly all of them. I hope they will come soon...

Back to Jerry Morris pines (Pinus ponderosa 1)

Before Jerry Morris the great western yellow pine (Pinus ponderosa and his family) had practically no available cultivars. The investigations of the dry midwest by Jerry Morris opened a new door to a hidden and forgotten conifer world. I guess, the ponderosas will become their place soon in the conifering history. Pinus jeffrey is empty, Pinus scopulorum is empty, Pinus coulteri also was empty, but in Hungary by Debreczy and Hodi Toth was introduced 2 cultivars of coulteri last year. Anyway, if the US is full of the ponderosas, should have been breeded in situ...

Pinus ponderosa "Dick Bush" are not a Pinus ponderosa but probably a Pinus uncinata or similar.
