Is there a way to shed light on 'Clanbrassiliana Stricta'? It's similar to your plant but a little faster growing. Is it possibly a cultivariation?

I have to admit too, that like dozens of other guys here, this was going to be that nearly Christmas day excited feeling of you showing 20-30 rare and uber plants from your garden. I won't deny I am let down so far. (!) :)

Very cool, Stephen. I like that the wood came direct from the original plant. I'm trying to hone in on how tall this one is... I'm guessing just about one meter. How old is this it? Did you graft it or obtain it after it was a few years old?

Very interesting growth pattern on this cultivar. I went Gooogling for a photo of the original tree, but wasn't able to definitively find it. If possible, will you please post a picture of the Picea abies 'Clanbrassiliana' in Tollymore Park?

Haha Will! what you on about, this is dwarf conifer history! I wouldn't part with this plant for anything, I know I got the correct plant and there's not many on this planet can say that for any certainty..

Here's mine. Of course it doesn't measure up to yours in anyway, shape or form.

I got mine from Bob F. 5-6 years ago.

It's my understanding it becomes conical as it ages..such as yours.

How old is yours?

dcsteg - is your tolleymore spruce still thriving in shawnee?. we just bought/planted one here in overland park and now wondering if it will thrive since not the recommended zone 4!

patchword...it's hardy to Z. 3. Mine died but not of the cold or heat. I moved it and it didn't take. I'll replace it when I find a nice one.
