Nice! That is one of the firs purported to be able to grow in the South on its own roots, although Tom Cox had one and now he doesn't... I may try growing some from seed one of these years, regardless. I'd also like to get my hands on straight A. recurvata (i.e. not var ernestii), but that seems to be much more difficult to find.

I can most likely roundup A. recurvata scions from my trees and let you skip a generation in order to acquire a coning specimen in a reasonable time span? Orthotropic scions eliminate the "problem".
