How to Beat The Lich - Cavern of Earth Boss Guide and Tips
The Lich is the third fiend you'll face, and it will be the one corrupting the Earth Crystal. The Lich is an undead monstrosity, so light magic like Holy will do a lot of damage to it. Best to equip a class that can cast light magic or at least equipped weapons that are imbued with Holy.
The Lich will have several projectiles, including Curse which will drain your Break Gauge. You can Soul Shield Curse and shoot it back at it to drain its Break Gauge. The Lich will also shoot ice spears at you, which you can parry, so try to time it well.
The Lich will summon Dark Skeletons from the ground. When you defeat the Skeletons, the Lich will absorb the Skeletons' essence and temporarily become stronger. Soul Bursting Skeletons are a great way to build up mana, giving you enough to hit the Lich with powerful Combo Abilities.
The Lich's most powerful spells are Flare, Judgement, and Earthquake. Flare will appear as a bunch of light gathering, so try rolling away from that when you see it. Judgment will appear like a shiny circle on the floor that will follow you until eventually stopping. Earthquake is a rupture from beneath your feet. Three different ruptures will happen, so keep rolling away to avoid them all.
Once you deal enough damage and do a Soul Burst on the Lich, the Lich will lose its arms. The Lich will become far more aggressive, going after you with its deadly scythes on its back. These swipes with the scythes will cause a lot of damage, so avoid the Lich at all costs.
It's best to keep a healthy distance from the Lich. Hit him from afar with projectiles and powerful magic like Holy. If you see an opening, go to him and just take a few swipes. Lich's reaction time is too fast, he will react to you being too close and will start swinging at you. The Lich will try to corner you with its scythe, annihilating you completely if you're not able to move away in time. Dodging away is key to not losing so much health in this boss fight.
The Lich will also summon a pool of mud beneath its feet. Standing in the mud will poison and curse you, so avoid it the best you can. The Lich will also continue summoning Dark Skeletons. You should continue Soul Bursting Skeletons when you can so that you can build up your mana. The Lich's grab attack is also very devastating, causing a lot of damage. Don't get near it when it is glowing with a black aura.
As long as you're smart and keep your distance, the Lich will be defeated sooner rather than later.
