E.E. Cummings

(1894 - 1962)

After graduating from Harvard and serving in World War I, E.E. Cummings split his time between Paris, where he studied art, and New York. Known as one of America’s most inventive and experimental poets, he produced work marked by unconventional punctuation, phrasing, syntax, and typography. In all Cummings wrote twelve volumes of verse, later assembled in his two-volume Complete Poems, published in 1968.
