Day 1 | IAPSS World Congress 2023 🌎 Capturing the defining moments of the first IAPSS in-person World Congress since 2019.

Today findings from the largest study of its kind, conducted by Coram, are published by Foundations – What Works Centre for Children & Families, showing that children whose families were referred for Family Group Conferencing (FGC) are significantly less likely to go into care. This study was the first Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of FGCs to have been carried out in the UK and the largest RCT of FGCs carried out in the world. Dr Carol Homden, CEO of Coram, said: "This important research conducted by Coram has drawn upon the hard work of many hundreds of family members and professionals who took part. It shows the significant potential to help keep children and families together and could have a life-changing impact on generations of families to come."
