Habit

Broadly conical large shrub or small tree, 5-8 (10) m tall, 3-4 m wide; crown domed; branches to the ground, loosely congested; slow growing, 20 cm a year.

Short, but variously long needles; late shoots from mid-May, light green, then shiny dark green on top with two broad, chalk-white bands beneath.

Sun or light shade to semi-shade, sensitive to warmth, likes cool to cold, humid areas, frost hardy; wind resistant.

Moderately dry to fresh; sensitive to heat and drought; on all acidic to neutral, well drained, humic substrates. Recommended
