Caterina Murino uses her new Bond fame to help AIDS orphans

29-Oct-2006 • Actor News

Actress Caterina Murino is insisting on using her James Bond girl status to help stop third world suffering - reports PR Inside.

The Italian beauty, who will be seen in Casino Royale as Solange, is a passionate supporter of humanitarian causes and regularly travels to Africa to help AIDS orphans.

Murino says, "A 14 year-old boy asked me to please say hello to James Bond. It was overwhelming, horrible and beautiful."

"I couldn't cry in front of the children. I spoke to Barbara Broccoli (co-producer of the Bond films) about raising money for the area and we are going to send James Bond movies to the slums.

"If we become famous, we can move the media to make aware what is happening in the rest of the world."
