The tallest in a group of seedlings raised around 1904 from a tree of Pinus ayacahuite var. veitchii at Westonbirt, which grew next to a P. wallichiana. In 2014 there were seven big Holford Pines surviving at Westonbirt, some planted in 1906 and some probably in 1937; several others have recently died.
