Once in a while, a motherboard comes along that you just know will be a major contender, unrivalled, and near unparallelled in its performance and features. It's been some time since any piece of hardware has excited me so, and this one has me quite interested to say the very least. I'm talking about the Abit Fatal1ty A9N 32X motherboard.
Abit has been picking up steam in the past couple of years, and I would now consider them to be one of the top motherboard manufacturers on the market today. In fact, I would defiantly say that Abit is tied for first place with Asus, a tough competitor to crack. We've reviewed a couple of other Abit boards in the past and have been quite pleased with the results thus far. The Abit AW9D Max turned of to be an exceptional Intel Core 2 Duo overclocker. When matched with our Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 chip, some very impressive overclocking results were seen. There's also the earlier Abit AA8XE board we reviewed. Though it was a Pentium 4 based rig, its overclocking prowess earned it our chief editors "Recommended Award". A big thumbs up to Abit for that one.
Now, the Abit Fatal1ty AN9 32X is upon us. Intended for the AMD AM2 processor family (the AM2 X2 and AM2 FX-62 processors specifically speaking), my expectations are high for the Fatal1ty. Sheer visual impressions alone would hint towards the ultimate in performance.
I'm ready if you are. I've been waiting to bring this board to life and see what it can do.
