Paris Hilton’s Baby Phoenix Is Criticized After Reaching a New Milestone Because Mom-Shamers Don’t Stop

Celebrating a baby’s new milestone? That’s hot! Shaming the baby for said milestone? That’s so not hot. Unfortunately, Paris Hilton’s 13-month-old baby Phoenix is going through this right now. She shared an adorable new video of her baby’s latest skill, and mom-shamers were quick to criticize him — because of course they did. Moms can’t enjoy one thing without people coming for them, apparently.

First, the milestone news: Phoenix can crawl now! “Look who just started crawling👶🏼 #SlivingMom ✨,” the Paris In Love star, who shares Phoenix with husband Carter Reum, captioned a new video on TikTok.

In the cute video, Phoenix crawls over a pink “That’s Hot” rug. He leaves the playroom and is stopped by a baby gate. “Where are you going, sir?” Hilton asks her baby in the video. He pulls up on the gate, then turns and looks at his mom. Phoenix answers her by blowing spit bubbles, and we can’t stop laughing. He is just too cute!

Unfortunately, many of the comments were not nice. “wow so late!!! most kids are walking at this age. probably cuz he’s always in the walker,” one person commented. First of all, they are not Phoenix’s doctor, so they should not be commenting on the timeline of his milestones.

“I agree that every child is different and I know he is happy and healthy, but we all know he would have been crawling ages ago if it wasn’t for that walker!” another person judgily said.

Someone else wrote, “He’s just now learning how do crawl wow he’s kinda behind. but he’ll get there best of luck.”

There were several nice comments in the post, though. “People judging and saying its late for him first to be crawling now. Every baby development is different. He’s Perfect Paris! 😍✨” one person said.

Another encouraged Hilton, “Educator here! Crawling is great for brain development! Using the left and right side of the brain together! Go Phoenix!”

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), crawling is usually mastered between seven and ten months, although some babies never crawl. (Note: the AAP strongly discourages the use of baby walkers as they can “eliminate the desire to walk.”)

If Hilton is worried that her baby is delayed, that’s up to her and her doctor — not sleuths on the internet who want to judge her baby for every little thing. Even if his gross motor skills are a little delayed, that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate with him and his mama when he does master a new skill! As a reminder, he’s a baby, and if you have a problem keeping your comments to yourself, then you are the one who needs help.

These celebrities overcame their childhood trauma to be better parents to their own children.
