Water Saving Tip:

Replace turf with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs. If you have areas where no one uses the grass, patches that do not grow well, or a turf area too small to water without runoff, consider replacing the turf with water-efficient landscaping.

This may be the coolest weeping evergreen out there. Tolleson's has graceful, arching, drooping branches and fine textured silvery blue evergreen foliage. Size depends on how it is trained, but it is a moderate grower to 20 feet tall and about 10 to 12 feet wide. Though as big as a tree, its low-branching habit makes it seem more shrubby than tree-like. Use as an accent in any style of garden. It is so worth finding a place in your landscape for this evergreen.
Grow in any soil that is well draining, including sandy, gravelly, or clay soils, but they must be well draining. Best growth in full sun. Once established, it tolerates dry soils and heat. Avoid shearing, as that will made the juniper woody and stiff (sort of defeats the purpose of planting a cool, weeping, draping thing); instead, prune selectively if necessary (see Guides).
