The trips undertaken were as follows: Trip 1 – Wollemi NP, Blue Mountains, NSW (1 day) Trip 2 – Northern NSW with PhD student Nik Tatarnic (5 days) Trip 3 – Far North Queensland (5 days) Trip 4 – Dharawal NP, nr Wollongong, NSW (1 day) Trip 5 – Northern Beaches of Sydney (1 day) Trip 6 – Woranora Dam, NSW (1 day) Celia’s Callitris Collecting Trips Undergraduate student Celia Symonds undertook a number of small collecting trips to sample as many Callitris species as possible for the Orthotyline Mirids found on this host plant. Callitris is in the plant family Cupressaceae, which has a relictual distribution in the southern hemisphere. Callitris is also found in New Caledonia.

Callitris - NorthernNSW The Big Prawn, Ballina Callitris bayleyiendangered species,isolated population at the bottom of a steep gully in grazing land, nr Casino Callitris macleayanathe only rainforest species,only juvenile trees growing on the forest edge were able to be reached, Coffs Harbour one callitroid Orthotylus species was found on this endangered Callitris bayleyi

  3. Callitris oblonga - Northern NSW This endangered Callitris species is a small shrub with only three populations remaining and only found in NSW. No Orthotylus species were found on this Callitris species.

  5. Callitris – Wollemi NP, Blue Mountains nr Newnes, Old Coach RdCallitris endlicheri no Orthotylus species found nr NewnesCallitris rhomboidea one Orthotylus sp. found Wentworth FallsCallitris muelleri no Orthotylus species found here or in Sydney

  6. Results • 30 localities sampled • 13 Callitris species sampled • Callitroid Orthotylus found on 11 Callitris • ca. 350 specimens • no Orthotylus found on the endangered Callitris oblonga which was sampled at all its known localities
