Juniperus chinensis ‘Daub’s Frosted’
Golden yellow, frosted foliage tips create a striking contrast to the pendulous, blue-green, mature foliage. An excellent low-growing conifer that will brighten the landscape in mass plantings & provides excellent evergreen ground cover for hot, dry banks with poor soil. Has a spreading growth habit & reaches roughly 2’ tall by 8’ wide in size, growing 3” to 6” a year.
Juniperus chinensis ‘Sea of Gold’
Outstanding, lacy, golden yellow foliage on this compact evergreen makes a bold statement in the landscape. Superb color retention with a gold hue that deepens in winter better than other gold-tipped varieties. An excellent choice for mass plantings, along foundations, fence lines, driveways and island plantings. Has a spreading growth habit & reaches roughly 3’ tall by 4’ wide in size.
Juniperus chinensis ‘Torulosa’
The artistic appearance of its twisted, rustic form makes this a wonderful landscape accent. An excellent evergreen for use as a topiary specimen in containers and formal gardens. Well-suited for our PNW climate. Has a broad upright growth habit & reaches 15’ tall by 10’ wide in size.
Juniperus communis 'Berkshire Sparkler'
A very dwarf, slow growing, dense flat mound of dark green foliage that turns plum purple with blue striations in winter, particularly in colder climates. Has a spreading growth habit & reaches roughly 12” tall by 12” wide in size, growing about 1” a year.
Juniperus communis 'Miniature'
Durable, adaptable & dense, this improved selection sports compact, bluish-green foliage & an upright habit. It has a broad pyramidal shape & is tolerant to wind, cold & reflected sun. Try this reliable, vertical accent that is well suited for containers & a range of styles, from elegant to casual. Has a narrow upright growth habit & reaches roughly 3’ tall by 1.5’ wide in size, growing 2” to 4” a year.
Juniperus communis var. montana
Deep green needles on whipcord-like branches each have a prominent silver-blue band creating a natural low ground cover with an interesting texture. A rugged, low-growing evergreen shrub for slopes, rock gardens or any well-drained, sunny location. May be trained as a bonsai specimen or into upright forms for vertical accent. Has a spreading growth habit & reaches roughly 3” to 6” tall by 3’ to 6’ wide in size.
Juniperus communis 'Pencil Point'
A dwarf, narrow conifer. Silvery blue-green foliage stays dense, creating an extremely fine and delicate texture in the landscape. A great vertical accent. Has a narrow upright growth habit & reaches 1’ to 6’ tall.
Juniperus conferta ‘All Gold’
A visually stunning ground cover! It is an extremely durable, blazing, bright-yellow conifer with a prostrate growth habit that quickly covers the ground. The prickly awl-shaped foliage is very dense and turns a light bronze in winter. Native to the Japanese coast, it does well in seacoast environments. Best color in full sun. Has a prostrate growth habit & reaches roughly 1’ tall by 8’ wide in size, growing 3” to 6” a year.
Juniperus conferta ‘Blue Pacific’
This wonderful, low, spreading form makes a superb ground cover, group planting or single specimen. Dense blue-green foliage gives this selection a handsome appearance and is best when not pruned, but rather left in its natural form. A notably heat tolerant variety. Has a spreading growth habit & reaches roughly 1’ tall by 6’ to 7’ wide in size.
Juniperus conferta 'Silver Mist'
This low, spreading selection has thick, stiff branches & densely set, short branchlets. Sharp, blue-green needles have broad white, stomatal bands that contribute a silvery sheen to the appearance. New growth has a reddish brown tinge. Tolerant of many conditions, especially poor & sandy soils, but not soggy soils. Has a spreading growth habit & reaches roughly 2’ tall by 10’ wide, growing 6” to 8” a year.
Juniperus horizontalis 'Gold Strike'
The vivid yellow foliage of this spreading juniper creates a bright, cheery spot in the garden throughout the year. In spring, brilliant new growth freshens up the chartreuse interior foliage & continues through fall, when the look gradually softens with coral tones. Low, somewhat mounded habit & performs best grown in moist, well-drained soil & protected from scorching sun. Has a prostrate growth habit & reaches roughly 6’ tall by 3’ wide in size, growing 2” to 4” a year.
Juniperus horizontalis 'Mother Lode'
Bright, golden-yellow foliage in spring & summer which transitions to rich, burgundy plum undertones during the winter giving this extremely flat, ground-hugging juniper long-term garden interest. Let it cascade over a bank, define a mound, or cover ground planted in masses. Use with other colorful plants for an exciting statement in the garden. Has a prostrate growth habit & reaches roughly 6’ tall by 4’ wide in size, growing 3” to 5” a year.
Juniperus horizontalis ‘Wiltonii’
One of the finest trailing junipers having a uniform, full centered growth habit with intense silver-blue evergreen foliage. Excellent for large scale ground covers or cascading over walls. Has a spreading growth habit & reaches roughly tall by 6’ to 10’ wide in size, growing 7” to 10” laterally a year.
Juniperus scopulorum 'Moonglow'
Exceptionally showy, silvery blue foliage on a broad pyramidal form makes this a highly attractive landscape accent, excellent for screens, hedges, & group plantings. This tough plant has a dense, compact-branching habit that resists grazing by deer. Prefers fulls sun & is evergreen. Has a narrow upright growth habit & reaches roughly tall by 20’ by 8’ wide in size.
Juniperus scopulorum 'Skyrocket'
Stately, columnar form makes this likely the narrowest juniper available - so narrow & upright, in fact, it resembles a skyrocket! A durable & versatile evergreen with beautiful bluish green foliage, it works well grouped to form a colorful screen, or singly as a garden accent in a mixture of conifers. Requires very little care, once established. Has a narrow upright growth habit & reaches roughly 15' to 20' tall & 2' to 3’ wide in size.
Juniperus scopulorum 'Wichita Blue'
The handsome, broadly pyramidal form makes this an excellent choice for an evergreen screen, hedge, background plant, or lawn specimen. The bright silver-blue foliage retains its brilliant color year-round. Has a narrow upright growth habit & reaches roughly 10' to 15' tall & 5' wide in size.
Juniperus squamata 'Blue Star'
This immensely popular juniper, deserves its reputation as a winning garden selection. It has sharp, blue, densely arranged needles, filling short branches that suggest the tips on a many-point star, & a useable form that slowly spreads becoming broader than tall. Has a spreading growth habit & reaches roughly 2’ tall by 3’ wide in size, growing 2” to 4” a year.
Juniperus squamata 'Holger'
This dense, wide-spreading plant produces bright, creamy-yellow new growth that stands out above the plant’s older, bluish foliage. The unique color combination makes a stunning & dramatic show. Sharp, densely arranged, pointed needles & scaly bark, typical of the species, add character & interest. Has a spreading growth habit & reaches roughly 4’ tall by 8’ wide in size, growing 3” to 6” a year.
