Airtronics calibre micro computer radio control system. I first obtained one of these a few months back, basically won it in a auction for less then £20, it wasn't in the best of shape but the Airtronics were and still are the finest controllers for sale. Sanwa made and very popular in the professional race seen in the 80's and very much so today but highly expensive and well beyond the range of most RC collectors. Current models are up and over £400 and even futaba are second place in this field. The version you see here has had several donor parts as this one came from the USA in very near mint condition. I only needed a couple of parts to finish it off, luckily the calibre came complete with manuals and crystal flags and battery's plus original receiver. It's one of the very first computer transmitters with a high degree of adjustment, when you take one of these apart you can exactly see why in its day was very expensive. There are many components in the construction of this and you know where your money has gone compared with modern Radio's. It's a amazing piece and very hard to find.
If anyone out there can help me with the exact year of release as I am unsure, thanks for looking and any extra info would be great.....

Ah!! If that's a guess that's exactly where I am as I have yet to find out release date on the caliber. Google no use for this as that's always my first port of call.

Nop definitly not 2003- in these days the Sanwa M8 was the best choice. It found some foru, entries on rctech.net posted in 2004, which says: '..I've been using my 3Ps for over 6 years with no problems whatsoever. ', so it must be somewhere in the mid to late 90'ies.

just found a manual(pdf) of a Novak NER-3FM receiver, which mentiones the Caliber 3P. At the end of the manual it says the manual was printed in 02/1991.

Miga nuff respect for your info, That's a very useful Novak instruction sheet from 1991 so it looks like 89 to 91. I have a number of model cars and RC cars magazines up to 1988 but there are no adverts for the caliber 3pm. Once again thank you for your time and input... Pinpoint
