Season 17 of The Bachelorette did end with a proposal from Blake Moynes, but the winds have shifted leaving room for Hersey to re-enter the picture.
Who is John Hersey from Katie's season of The Bachelorette?
John Hersey was a contestant on season 17 of The Bachelorette and made it to episode four before he was eliminated.
Hersey is a 27-year-old from Santa Cruz, California, who is currently working on getting his pilot's license.
He is a fur parent to his Italian Greyhound, Dexter, and is a thrill-seeker having gone hot air ballooning and sky diving.
His interests aside, Hersey said he has been looking for someone who will challenge him and allow him to be himself, according to his ABC bio.

Are Katie Thurston and John Hersey dating?
Thurston and Hersey are reportedly dating after she announced her split with fiance Blake Moynes in October.
Thurston and Moynes were together for six months after the Bachelorette finale proposal.
At the time it was reported the couple could not handle the long-distance and decided to call it quits.
On October 25, Thurston and Moynes said, “It is with mutual love and respect that we have decided to go our separate ways.
"We are so grateful for the moments we shared together and the entire journey that has unfolded this year, but we ultimately have concluded that we are not compatible as life partners, and it is the most caring choice for both of us to move forward independently."
But now, less than a month later, Thurston rekindled the flame with former contestant Hersey.
After participating in the 12 Days Messy challenge on Instagram, Thurston dedicated a Taylor Swift's song to different contestants from her season on The Bachelorette.
On the final day of the challenge, she dedicated Begin Again to Hersey, and shared a video of her flying in a plane Hersey was piloting.
