After a nine-month engagement and a few venue changes, Paris Hilton and venture capitalist Carter Reum tied the knot on Thursday, in front of a star-studded crowd that included Kim Kardashian, Paula Abdul, Bebe Rexha, Ashley Benson, Emma Roberts, Meghan Trainor, Nicole Richie, and the bride’s sister, Nicky Hilton Rothschild. According to Vogue, the wedding took place on the grounds of a Bel Air estate once owned by her late grandfather Barron Hilton and was planned by megawatt event planner Mindy Weiss.

Hilton wore a tulle gown with floral lace designed by Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim of Oscar de la Renta, and she walked down the aisle to the sounds of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” as sung by pop star Kim Petras. In a Friday blog post on her website, Hilton said that Petras sang her 2006 single “Stars Are Blind” to begin the ceremony.

She also wrote about her emotions as she walked down the aisle. “My heart was thumping because before I knew it, it was time. I was getting shaky waiting for the doors to open. This would be one of the biggest moments of my life,” she wrote. “I remember my first two steps down the aisle so clearly. Getting to see the faces of all my loved ones and closest friends out in the crowd, and all their eyes on me, I felt more like a princess than ever before. Then seeing Carter’s handsome face…it was almost more emotional than the first look. I had to hold myself together, though, because if I didn’t then I’d be crying in all the footage for the show. It was such pure magic.”

For the reception, Hilton went through a few outfit changes, though not the 10 she joked about in August. According to People, the night featured a caviar station, torched-to-order oysters Rockefeller, plenty of Moët & Chandon Champagne, and a six-foot-tall wedding cake with a crown topper. Reum organized a flash mob dance as a surprise for Hilton, and Demi Lovato got a standing ovation when they performed Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”

Though the Bel Air estate was once owned by Hilton’s grandfather, it was sold to former Google CEO Eric Schmidt in May 2021. “As a little girl, I always told myself that I would get married at my grandfather’s former estate,” she said, according to Vogue. “I imagined having my fairy-tale wedding here, and it’s amazing that it actually came true. This estate brings back so many memories, and it means so much to be here surrounded by family and connected to all my loved ones on this day.” Despite her enthusiasm for the estate, last week Page Six reported that the venue changed multiple times before the wedding.

Hilton has been documenting the road to her big day on a Peacock reality show called Paris in Love, which premiered on Thursday. Ironically, her duties running a production company took her away from the details of the nuptials, she told Vogue. “Thankfully, my mom and groom had a lot of opinions on the planning, so I let them take the reins,” she added.
