A conifer with a bizarre growth pattern, with branches hanging down sharply, but some growing in a more or less horizontal, undulating pattern. These branches have young, very thin twigs that hang straight down. The main trunk sometimes grows in a somewhat undulating fashion as well. This ultimately produces an exceptional, irregular growth pattern that is pre-eminently suited for solitary planting. The growth pattern is quite similar to that of the cultivar 'Barabits Requiem' , however the branches of 'Pendulum' grow less far to the side. Height approx. 15 m and width 3 - 4 m. 'Pendulum' is slightly weaker than 'Barabits Requiem'. Trunk, branches, needles and cones are similar to those of the species. Requires protection against cold wind. Difficult to transplant.
