Larix kaempferi 'Diana' Larix kaempferi 'Diana'

Strong cultivar which grows from a shrub shape into a small tree with a pyramidal crown from 4 to 6 m. The twigs and branches are very contorted and twisted. Like the species, they are brownish red. The quite thick mature bark is grey-brown to reddish brown, later scaling. The soft needles are in clusters of 40 - 50 on short shoots along the older twigs. On (year-old) long shoots, they stand alone. Like the twigs and branches, the blue-grey needles are also very curved and twisted. In autumn, they turn golden yellow before falling off. ‘Diana’ transforms itself into a graceful tree on all soils except acidic.
Our trees can only be planted when they don't have any leaves. Due to the this we will start delivering again from November 2024.
