Description

Podocarpus totara  has needle-like olive green leaves, orange-red fruit between April and May. Bark red/brown, good shaped tree with durable timber, traditionally used for making waka and carvings. Tolerates a wide range of sites.

Totara are not garden trees, they are ideal for revegetation and riparian upper bank planting.
