This Lancia Beta got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1977 Lancia Beta HPE is finished in blue over tan vinyl upholstery and powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a Craig cassette player, a Jensen equalizer, air conditioning, split-folding rear seats, four-wheel disc brakes, and factory 14″ wheels. The car was acquired by the owner in 2021 and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale. This Lancia is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean Washington State title.
The High Performance Estate (HPE) was styled under Piero Castagnero’s direction at Lancia and featured the coupe’s front end combined with the longer wheelbase of the Berlina model. This example left the factory in Beige Sahara (164) and was repainted in its current blue finish under previous ownership. The windshield is cracked, and the paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below.
The 14″ alloy wheels show Lancia and Made in Italy castings and are mounted with 185/75 Goodyear Weatherhandler LS tires. Disc brakes are equipped at all four corners.
The cabin features tan vinyl upholstery on the front bucket seats, rear bench, center stack, and door panel inserts. Interior equipment includes a Craig cassette stereo, a Jensen equalizer, an analog clock, and air conditioning. The door panel speaker grilles are missing.
The split-folding rear seats provide additional storage space in the carpeted rear cargo area, which houses a spare tire protected by a tan vinyl cover.
A two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 44k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 1.8-liter inline-four is transversely mounted and delivers power to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Corrosion is noted on the exhaust and underbody. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
