Plymouth as a brand may have ceased, but that hasn’t stopped one skilled designer from reviving the famed Superbird.
Hayden Ahn recently set out to see if he could make a modern-day Superbird for the year 2045 with an all-electric powertrain.
And his Plymouth Superbird EV Concept is the perfect homage to a legend.

Just like the original Plymouth Superbird, his finished creation is a two-door, but it also has four seats.
But what makes it really cool is it’s been reimagined with innovative bodywork.
Its bodywork can move depending on whether the car’s being driven in ‘Normal’ or ‘Track Mode’.
You’ll see from the pictures that the cars’ front fascia has slim LED headlights and a black pointed nose that’s recessed into the grille.
When the Plymouth Superbird EV Concept is in Track Mode, that nose and a pronounced front splitter slide forward.
The rear of the car changes too, as a rear wing deploys in order to create downforce so it sticks to the tarmac.
But the rear wing isn’t the only eye-catching element at the car’s rear end.

Another stand-out feature is the intriguing wheel and tire package.
As for what powers Ahn’s creation, there’s a battery pack where the transmission tunnel would normally be located.
There’s space for an extra battery under the hood, and a pair of electric motors on the rear axle, too.
The studio project was undertaken at the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California under the supervision of the faculty and with the aid of school resources.
Having left a great mark on the American muscle car culture, Ahn and the team set out to revive the famed Superbird for the younger generation in the year 2045.
And what an epic job they’ve done.
