It is humorous that they are even giving me the option to write a review on an NES toploader. I am pretty sure that the NES toploader transcended mere mortality decades ago, meaning it is immune to review trolls. I mean this thing is daddy in the world of video games, Papi Toploader.

If you have ever tried to play games on an old "traditional" NES, you know how frustrating it can be. In order to get a game to work, you have to blow on it, jimmy it around and make a tolkien sacrifice to the gaming gods to get a game to play. Only to get 3/4 of the way through your first complete Contra playthrough and have the system randomly reset. If you are tech savvy you can buy a replacement 72 pin connector, but it is no sure thing that it will fix the problem. All of these problems are related to the originals poor design and sensitive components.

The NES Toploader was released by Nintendo in 1993, one year after the Super Nintendo had hit shelves.Nintendo wanted to release a newer, better version of the NES. They did this as a way to let gamers know that they were still making new games for the NES. As is the case with so many highly collectable items in the Retro Gaming world, the NES Top Loader experienced pretty poor sales, despite a highly functional design.

If you consider yourself a true NES collector, you have to bite the bullet and buy one. Sure you can always by a 5 in 1 retro emulation system, but those all use Emulation to run the games and that can cause some serious problems with certain games. If you play, test, or record NES games regularly, you absolutely must have an NES Toploader to complete your collection.

At the end of the day this system is without flaws, it is perfect and beyond criticism. The NES is already the most iconic home consoler in the history of gaming and this is the most reliable version of the NES.

The product description said clean... it was not. I didn't receive the two dogbone controllers... I received one regular classic NES controller. I was very disappointed when my husband opened his gift on Christmas. The console did work which is why I gave 3 stars but to pay so much and not get everything that was supposed to be included is not acceptable. I also found a console at a local resale shop for $75 cheaper with the dogbone controllers. I will be returning this and purchasing locally. Wish I could have left a better review. This was my husband's big gift this year.

The NES 2 is a wonderful model of the NES. Its RF only which sucks, but can be easily modded and isn't that big a deal with older TVs.

My issue stems from the seller (GGCLLC0105) "upgrading" the included controller with a terrible wireless controller. These wireless controllers of the era use infrared for functionality which barely works for video games.

Bad seller, good product.

This came to me with no controllers, power cord, or tv hook ups. I have no clue if it even works yet. The picture is misleading. I assumed it wouldn't come in the original box but it should've at least came with what's necessary to make it work.
