While it is a shame that Mitsubishi no longer produces the Lancer Evolution, there is a huge community of Evo enthusiasts that love to drive and modify their vehicles.

The owner of this Evo X featured at That Racing Channel has had the car for over six years and has been customizing it for quite some time. Initially, he made a host of modifications so it would pump out 350 hp at all four wheels. As is so often the case, they soon decided that wasn’t enough and has upgraded it even further.

The most significant change made to the car is the fitment of a 76 mm turbocharger to the four-cylinder engine. This turbo, plus a number of other modifications, means the Evo now pumps out 1,000 hp. What’s more, the turbocharger has been tuned to reliably run at 55 PSI while the engine can rev to 10,000 rpm without breaking a sweat.

The engine block has been sleeved and it also features aftermarket rods, pistons, cams, valve springs, and a 6-inch intercooler. Some parts have been left stock, including the head gasket and intake manifold. Moreover, the Evo is rocking a six-speed sequential transmission with a triple-plate clutch.

Obviously, making these modifications wouldn’t have been cheap but they have resulted in one of the most insane Evos you’re ever likely to come across.
